Thank You!!

Wow! Two super fun customer appreciation parties! Thank you so much to all of you who attended and called in. We were overwhelmed by the sheer numbers. It was so nice to see you all. Although we didn't have the opportunity to chat with you as much as we would have liked, rest assured that many glasses were raised to you later in the evening. On the subject of raised glasses...I had a number of requests for the recipe for the Mulled Apple Cider we served in Vancouver. I think the big surprise was the tequila! An odd, but wonderfully pleasing, combination (no surprise that Lilites took to it right away!). I wing it each time I make a batch but I'm happy to give you the general idea. For a more specific recipe, I did a little web search and found this recipe that looks really good - especially poured into teacups!

Here's my version of Lily's Libation: 2 litre jug of unfiltered organic apple cider bunch of cinnamon sticks (4 to 8?) large pinch of whole cloves (6 to 12?) small piece of star anise (1 "petal" to the whole flower?) maple syrup (a glug to 1/4 cup?) Mix in a pot, bring to a boil, then simmer for half an hour. You can use it right away or cool it down for another time. I find the secret to a good mug of mulled apple cider is to pour one ounce of amber tequila (I prefer a Reposado which is 100% agave) into the mug, then fill the mug halfway with mulled apple cider and top with hot water (I like a 2/3rds apple 1/3rd water mix to tone down the intensity). Mmmmm...perfect fix for cold days. Enjoy! and thank you! glenda.
