From the final few days of cherry blossoms in Vancouver, and on my final day at Smoking Lily, I'm writing to wish you fond adieu.

It's been a fun 19 years with Smoking Lily. As you all know, I've enjoyed my time with the company, in Victoria and here on Main Street, with our awesome customers, and with our lovely staff. I will miss a great deal about the job and the people I have become connected to. I have been so lucky to have worked with such fantastic people over the years, and years!

Thanks to Trish for the many opportunities she provided for me, including running the Vancouver shop, and living behind it TWICE! (insert lots of laughs and crazy stories, like the Sardine Party - 30 people in the 350sqft apartment - oh my). Thanks to all the staff for their dedication, positive energy, and support over the years. I know I'll be leaving the shop and customers in good hands with you all.

To the customers whom I've come to know over the last two decades...I've seen hair styles and colours come and go, watched babies grow to talk and shop, and enjoyed a myriad of deep and genuine discussions. I will always remain charmed and impressed by the wonderfully smart and interesting women who shop here. I look forward to bumping into you out in the world in our layers of Lily!

Lastly, to my Main Street neighbours, thank you for making this area a great community. Living and working in Mount Pleasant was absolutely delightful and inspiring.

It's been an adventure and a learning experience, but time for new adventures is here. My plans are to start up a Canadian/Japanese project in an entirely new field for me - food. Off to the next roller coaster ride. Here's hoping it provides me as many happy moments as the last.

Farewell fellow Lily fans!

xo glenda.

p.s. Shameless Lily plug: in the photo I'm wearing Lily Wristwarmers, BA scarf, Millie cardigan, Hama Hama top, and my 16 year old Print Yer Own skirt with Bugz. Kanpai!
