Fall Hats: Julie Sinden

September is slipping away, along with the intensity of the sun. One easy way to extend outdoor time (I'm not ready to give up on patio dining yet!) is to place a pretty hat on your head. Julie Sinden's classically designed wool hats are lightweight and look good with most anything. Raw merino wool from New Zealand and Australia is made into yarn in Listowel Ontario. That yarn is then knit, felted, trimmed, steamed and embellished in downtown Toronto by Julie and her small team (three part-time employees). We love this sort of small scale production! The Button Hat has a cute folded and buttoned detail, $58.   The Fur Hat comes in black, grey or ivory and has a fun upcycled fur pouf, $63. The Striped Hat is a great unisex topper. It comes in grey or black, $58. She makes knit merino wool scarves too! $63. Now you can opt for dinners on the deck for a few more days at least, and roll into October comfortably. glenda.
