DIY: Digital Camera = Scanner

I checked out a post on greenUPGRADER(a sustainable lifestyle blog) yesterday that shows how to make some cool things out of cardboard. The one project that really caught my eye was this: A camera stand, made from cardboard, that turns your digital camera into a scanner. There are loads of applications for this, but my first thought was for capturing camera ready artwork to make silkscreens. The fact that this rudimentary stand can take the place of a scanner and facs machineis pretty cool (yes, we still use fax machines here at Smoking Lily...we openly admit to being technopeasants!). With the world going more paperless, printers are also becoming less of a necessity. I'm thinking those cute offices in closets are becoming more of a distinct possibility. glenda
